Global Chief Financial Officer

We are now looking for a Global Chief Financial Officer responsible to the Board of Directors with a base near Paddington station in London you will be required to visit other sites as appropriate for the satisfactory performance of your duties and responsibilities.

Overview of Role

Maintain and develop financial and operational requirements of the organisation by providing financial projections, performance management, compliance and ensuring the alignment of the financial and strategic direction to the broader objective of maximising shareholder value.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Support the management team to ensure the strategic direction is aligned with shareholder value
Deliver the operating budgets and forecasts and ensure these are aligned organisation strategy, globally and regionally
Assist in formulating the organisation's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
Monitor and direct the implementation of the financial and strategic business plans.
Support CEO and monitor and provide measurement to assess business initiatives and future business plans
Setting performance measures for strategic initiatives and link to overall value to the organisation and shareholders
Represent the organisation on all financial matters to key stakeholders
Act as a key member of the management team and provide recommendations and highlighting risks and implementing risk mitigation strategies as required.
Support management in mergers and acquisitions including due diligence, negotiations, evaluation and implementation
Present financial results to management and the board of directors
Develop financial, tax, and treasury strategies that are aligned with overall organisation strategic directions
Understand and mitigate key elements of the organisation's risk profile, including foreign currency and liquidity risk
Ensure that all expenditure and commitments including capital expenditure is managed and approved within the Spend and Delegations framework and consistent with the Shareholders Agreement
Manage relationships with external/internal auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations
Ensure control systems are effective to preserve organisation assets
Ensure internal controls are embedded in process and financial policies are amended to cater to requirements
Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
Develop financial policies and procedures and ensure adherence.
Monitor all open legal issues involving the organisation, and legal issues affecting the industry, and work closely with the legal team in relation to legal issues
Manage any third parties to which functions have been outsourced
Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies and foreign operations
Oversee the organisation's processing systems, review systems and operating model to ensure best practice to reduce cost and improve efficacy
Ensure organisation working capital is effective and liquidity risk is managed
Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts, ensure annual cash flow forecasts are implemented
Ensure organisation funding requirements are met
Arrange for debt and equity financing/restructuring
Maintain banking relationships
Ensure proper insurance coverage is in established globally
Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans

Applying candidates will be working at a senior financial level from within the ecommerce industry however we would also welcome candidates with an accountancy company background.

You must have dealt with multi currencies, FOREX and can demonstrate your ability to deal at Board Level and prepare Board Papers etc.

Postgraduate degree or equivalent (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)
Proven experience in a senior leadership role
Proven ability to coach, mentor and develop a team
Experience in a supply chain role or logistics/transport industry.
Sound written communication skills demonstrating ability to develop and document procedures, as well as provide reporting to relevant stakeholders.
Have the ability to prioritise, multi-task and work to targets and deadlines, both independently and as part of a team.
Extensive Experience and Proven Track Record in a Similar Field Required.
