Warehouse and Transport Operative

A Best-In-Class freight forwarding and logistics service provider to the energy & resource industries are looking for a Warehouse and Transport Operative to work in their Heathrow location.

The client has five core areas of expertise global forwarding, project logistics, material management, consultancy services and technology that together shape a definitive offering to global oil & gas operations.

Purpose of the Role:

Maintaining the smooth running of the Warehouse, assisting in the receiving and dispatching of freight into and out of the warehouse and yard and ensuring customer satisfaction is maintained.

Involves elements of manual handling to be conducted in accordance with company Risk Assessment.

Transport administration and planning. This will be for one specific contract, and will include working out loading plan, and unloading plans for orders to various London Construction sites by flatbed 20ft, 30ft, and 40ft trailers, for offload by either forklift, HIAB or gantry crane at destination.

Main Duties:

Receiving and checking all freight into the warehouse.
All incoming freight to be measured, and logged in via scanner as pr. receiving manifest.
Note any damages, scratches, discrepancies and alert transport manager of same.
Ensure any damages goods is separated and placed in a non-conformity area
Keep files of signed inbound manifests/CMR`s
Receive dispatch manifest/notes for good to be distributed out from warehouse
Preparing the goods for despatch as pr. delivery manifest/notes
Load goods to trucks and ensure proper securing
Obtain signature (s) from driver when loading is completed
Stock control on customers goods in our warehouse and yard.
Weekly report on all goods still held in warehouse and yard.
Use of forklifts. (training will be given)
Keep warehouse and yard clean, tidy and safe
Aviation security awareness.
Health and Safety awareness

Essential Experience and Skills

Current unrestricted drivers licence;
Valid fork lift licence
Good telephone manner
Experience updating systems
Previous experience working within the transport and/or logistics sector; or
Warehouse road, haulage and distribution experience
Experience arranging and managing 3rd party transport operators
Experience working out loading plan and unloading plan for orders
Experience in the energy and resource sectors

Benefits:£22,000-25,000 basic salary
