Operations Trailer Freight Planner

Our Client is a well-established European trailer operator and Freight forwarder, a market leader in the provision of European logistics services to a large number of very substantial manufacturers, importers and exporters both in the UK and in Europe
We are now recruiting for a Freight Operations Planner

Working with an experienced management team this role will suit an individual who is passionate, ambitious and wishes to develop a career in International logistics while working for a friendly, financially strong and stable company.

Working as part of the European Trailer freight Operations team the successful candidate will get involved with...

Liaising with our UK and European client base and ensuring a high degree of customer service at all times.
Working as part of a team that plans the collection and delivery of averagely 400 consignments per week whilst exceeding our clients expectations.
Communicating proactively with our own driving staff to maximise their efficiency and productivity.
Attention to detail is key as you will be managing complex orders received from our clients that must be actioned with precision.

In order to apply you will have a
-A professional positive and helpful attitude to colleagues, suppliers and especially customers.
-Commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate directly with clients and suppliers and identify and exploit opportunities to increase both turnover and more importantly profit.
-Numerate and literate, it is vital that the successful candidate is able to explain complex logistical issues concisely in both written and verbal form.
-IT literate.
-Ambitious with a desire to succeed.
-Experience of working in the transport and logistics industry would be an advantage but also recent Graduate calibre individuals wishing to make a career in transport and logistics would be considered and my client has a track record of developing those through mentoring and leadership.
-Presentable, energetic and enthusiastic.
-Superb organisational skills with an excellent memory

Benefits:
£25,000-30,000 basic salary
Hours alternating weekly from 0730h 1630h to 0800h - 1800h Monday to Friday (1 in 4 Saturday mornings 0800h 1200h)
22 days holiday a year plus eight Bank/Public Holidays
