Fleet Engineer Support Manager

Our Client is a market leader in the provision of international and DOMESTIC PARCEL solutions to both businesses and home addresses.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a FLEET ENGINEER SUPPORT MANAGER.

The purpose of this role is to ensure commercial vehicles operated by our client are maintained to a standard that meets current industry legislation & is in line with our Operators Licence undertakings. Youll make sure policies are adhered to allowing a safe & compliant operation at all of our sites, whilst ensuring maximum uptime & controlling non-contract costs..
You'll have accountability for specific tasks such as:
Ensure depots / hubs are using the vehicle defect reporting system.
Monitor & update the defect reporting system to enable new additional features to be included as vehicle technology & legislation moves forward.
Measure / challenge clients sites & repairers for Vehicle off Road (VOR).
Produce vehicle maintenance planners for all depots & hubs.
Arrange MOTs in order to minimise disruption to the operation particularly during peak periods.
Ensure all maintenance agreements are in place and up to date in all sites.
Ensuring we have the best possible workshops with the latest technology & highly trained technicians maintaining our vehicles.
Involvement in specification and profiling new fleet.
Attend review meetings with maintenance suppliers, monitor high standards of maintenance suppliers.
About you
You will have the passion, drive and confidence to work cross functionally across the region as part of a growing team.
Essential Skills for the role:
Good interpersonal and networking skills to build relationships with suppliers & internal & external customers.
Knowledge of industry regulations, C&U regulations, Categorisation of Defects, MOT Testers Manual, EU & WTD Regulations.
Understanding of Operator Licensing, Margins, Parking, Transport Managers, Restrictions, Operating Centres.
Good computer skills Microsoft Office
Understanding of vehicle engineering, Diagnostics, Emissions, Air Braking Systems, Trailers, Tyres, Dimensions.
Full UK driving licence, extensive UK travel including nights away will be required.
Recognised motor vehicle trade qualification within the commercial vehicle industry.
