£22,000 - £25,000

Our client is a multi-national Freight Forwarder and Warehousing company, with a facility in the North West.

We are now looking for an Ocean Import Clerk to proactively support the import supervisor and team with the day to day requirements of running the department including but not limited to:

Providing professional and proactive customer service at all times when liaising with clients, colleagues and oversea partners
Completing Import Operator-related tasks such as Bookings, arranging collections and deliveries, completion of all required Ocean Freight documentation
Completing import operator related tasks such as clearances, deliveries, updating internal systems and charging files out.
Oversee and assist in the preparation of quotations for overseas offices and clients, logging these on the appropriate report and following up to secure shipment
Customer Procedures Ensuring correct customs and procedures are being used and followed
Arrange collections/deliveries with in-house transport department or other haulier
Assist with cost accruals and charging of shipments including the sending out of invoice and back up documentation to the relevant party
Ensuring all import files comply with internal company standards and that information is accurate and precise on all aspects of the shipments

To be considered for this role you MUST HAVE experience in Ocean Import from a Freight Forwarding perspective, ideally with knowledge of handling Dangerous goods and a sound understanding of import customs and procedures.
