£20,000 - £25,000
Our client is an International Freight Forwarder, specialising predominantly in deep-sea markets, within the Far East, USA as their main areas. Forming partnerships to freight manage their client's global business leaving the client free to concentrate on its own core business

They now have an exciting opportunity for a Shipping Clerk based in there department servicing their Automotive clients

Using internal systems to create documentation that will enable freight to be moved to customer specifications, on time with all the necessary customs and legal documentation, including:
o Creating and updating freight bookings.
o Raise customs documentation to ensure the freight can move from country to country.
o Collate all documents and distribute them to customers and carriers, as required.
o Preparing, processing and checking of invoices.
Arrange haulage with shipping lines/hauliers.
Negotiate and agree charges for all types of shipments, which may include containers (FCL/LCL & out of gauge), refrigerated units, ISO tanks and hazardous cargo.
Develop and build relationships to ensure a high level of customer service is provided to clients.
Take requests and queries and resolve them effectively and efficiently.
Communicate with overseas agents and clients clearly, precisely and accurately.
Ensure that the departmental manager is aware of the status of all shipments.

In order to apply for this role you will have forwarding or similar logistics experience with booking operations, documentation and customs, quoting and invoicing
Good verbal and written communication, to provide a professional image to customers and suppliers.
The capacity to work in a high pressure environment whilst remaining calm when under pressure.
The ability to liaise with a global network of agents, suppliers, shipping lines, hauliers.
The skill to prioritise a large number of tasks to ensure accuracy, and deliver results with great attention to detail and a high sense of urgency.
A positive attitude and good problem solving skills.
Be commercially aware and able to grow repeat business and develop new opportunities.
Foreign languages would be an added advantage.
