Our client is a global leader in multi modal freight solutions, they provide customer specific transport solutions to shippers of all sizes worldwide.
With over 300 people strategically placed in 10 locations throughout the UK and Eire, and over 250 offices world-wide. This company is ideally positioned to handle international movements from all around the globe and within the UK and Ireland

We are now looking for an Ocean Freight Manager to manage a small sea freight forwarding team in Belfast. As well as being a key member of the sea freight team handling the full sea freight cycle you will also get involved in managing operational targets in line with budgetary constraints.

You will select, train, motivate, appraise, develop and manage your team. Making sure you and your team maximise service levels and cost effectiveness.

You will negotiate contract buy rates on a local basis with major ocean carriers for both imports and exports

In order to apply for the role you need to have managment experience gained from working for a freight forwarder with excellent product knowledge. Sea freight forwarding operational background is essential, with a poven ability to work in a pressurised environment, Strong problem solving skills, customer focused with excellent communication skills, sound administrative skills, with excellent attention to detail & accuracy and Adaptable and flexible
