Sea Freight Imports Clerk

Our client is now looking for a Sea Freight Import Operations Coordinator based in Bristol, this role is offered with hybrid working for 3 days in the office and 2 days from home

The main responsibilities for your role will involve coordinating sea freight activities by making the necessary bookings with the carriers or gateway team, updating the system, creating and generating the required documentation, and liaising with other members of the sea freight team to ensure specific requirements are met (Transit Times, Carrier selection, Routings etc.). The Sea freight Imports Operations Coordinator is responsible for managing the coordination of customer shipments and the accurate and timely update of information into the operational system.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate and align customer deliverables with Sea freight team, partners and suppliers to manage the transportation of customer's cargo
Review and ensure alignment of shipping instructions including to clarify any deviations/conflicts in contradiction to country regulations, import compliance and rate and routing information.
Monitor operational performance of carriers and other vendors and escalate / create awareness if performance and commitments are not being delivered
Initiate and resolve any rate or performance discrepancies
Act as a main contact for the services in scope

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
Experience in either freight forwarding or Sea Logistics transport planning
Experience in Import Operations is advantageous
Ability to understand and execute new processes
Excellent knowledge of MS office features, especially excel
Strong affinity with required customer quality standards
Understanding of Incoterms, shipment types and methods
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
Very good time management skills with the ability to set priorities, fulfil critical tasks in time and keep to deadlines

Salary and Benefits

£26,000 To £32,500 circa
Healthcare After Qualifying Period
Pension up to 5% After Qualifying Period

Hybrid working available with the ability to work from home 2 days a week
