Import / Export Coordinator

Job Description

Our client are a re-use and sustainable Manufacturer who are looking to recruit an experienced Import/Export Logistics coordinator for their facility in Sheffield. As part of a small, dedicated team you will be involved in all areas of the operation, 95% of time on international and Domestic import/export, particulary via Road and Sea Freight, but sometimes via Air. You will also assist, when necessary, on stock management.

As the company eventually is looking to bring their Freight Forwarding in-house, their is a massive opportunity for someone with import and export experience to come in and build a department and a huge future

Key Job Responsibilities
- Day to day customer dispatches, including preparing picks and arranging delivery or ex works schedule.
- Import of goods into Sheffield Warehouse primarily from Turkey, working with internal sales dept and the Tracker office on shipment trackers and deliveries, with Clearance Agents and Freight Forwarders re customs clearances and deliveries .thus Experience in customs clearance also required.
- Export of goods to Sri Lanka and China, working with Freight Forwarders and planning packing list for shipping
- Stock management via SAP

Daily Activities
- Collating picks from SAP and working with the warehouse operatives to ensure all orders are processed and dispatched on time and in the correct state.
- Working with transport partners to obtain competitive delivery charges and book dispatches as required
- Deal with incoming telephone and email queries that are received to the warehouse
- Tracking all imports into the warehouse from offshore production units, planning inbound schedule and booking in stock against POs
- Maintain accurate stock records & complete stock adjustments when required
- Booking in UK production stock and planning export containers against POs from Sri Lanka, China, and Turkey warehouses
- Planning monthly export schedule and management via SAP
- Checking of all transport and freight forwarder invoices against activity and submitting to finance for approval and payment
- Work closely with the Management Team to ensure the correct product is loaded and delivered.
- Assist in stock-taking
- Monitor, investigate and resolve stock discrepancies
- Support continuous improvement projects within Operations, including the development of ongoing Standard Operating Procedures
- Effective prioritisation of all tasks, in accordance with business needs.
- Undertake other tasks or duties considered appropriate to your abilities.

You Will Need the Following Experience
- Experience working in a busy office environment in an administrative role
- Experience working in a logistics environment preferably Road and Sea Freight
- Experience using a computer and MS office (Word, Outlook, etc.) proficiently
- Knowledge of transport laws, regulations, and ISO requirements.
- Experience of international Import/Export customs clearance.
- Working knowledge of Stock Management system such as SAP.
